Our first Crickley Flyers Go-Ride event of 2026 went off with a bang as we had an incredible 138 riders signed up to compete; the highest number of racers we’ve ever hosted in one event. We had over 40 riders in the boys’ Under 16 category, with some awesome times posted. It’s the first time we’ve used our newest trail, Cotswold Gold, and the feedback from riders was really positive.
Our Muc-Off sponsored event was well attended with spectators too, consuming a massive volume of refreshments in the café (and we mean MASSIVE; among other items, it involved 80 sausage rolls, 62 pizzas, 77 baguettes, 228 hot drinks, 64 milkshakes and 156 cold drink cans!)
Quickest time of the day goes to Matt Simmonds in the 34+ mens’ category with a lightning-fast run down Cotswold Gold of 1:28.62 – it’s almost like this isn’t his first rodeo!
Huge pat on the back to our youngest riders too; we had 9 riders in the Under 7 category, with the youngest rider aged just 3. This is so impressive as heading down a trail alone at such a young age is a huge step for them (we do offer a chaperone for the little ones if wanted).
Full results from Round 1 of Crickley Flyers Go-Ride can be found on the Race Results site here.
Roll on Round 2 on 28th June. Book your spot on British Cycling, searching events using ‘Crickley’.
