Flyup was born in May 2010 by husband and wife team Simon & Angela Ruskin. The concept of uplifting came when Simon, a keen DH rider returned from a Mountain bike holiday in France. Like many people he had a busy life and got fed up of spending most of his precious riding day pushing up rather than riding. They launched their first uplift service at the Cannop Cycle Centre at the Forest of Dean helping to firmly put the cycle centre on the DH map! In 2013 they launched another uplift in Devon at the Gawton Gravity Hub Nr Tavistock.
In 2013 the opportunity came to purchase and develop a 100 acre farm on Crickley Hill in Gloucestershire. The 417 Bike Park is the biggest privately owned mountain bike facility in England offering a variety of riding disciplines within one venue.
Since our initial opening, we have added more tracks, a kids club, coaching programmes and are currently in the process of building more tracks on the other side of our hill for spring/summer 2018. Exciting times for the Flyup team and one we are looking forward to.
